Biocontrol Technologies is a Bio tech Company (spin-off from Barcelona University) created in 2004 and dedicated to develop biopesticides (microbes) to control crop diseases with effectiveness of conventional chemical pesticides, but safety to human health and environment and according the most restrictive Regulation (Europe and USA). The first product developed by Biocontrol Technologies to-date is based on Trichoderma asperellum, strain T34 (biopesticide): T34 Biocontrol®. Biocontrol Technologies aims to be a reference enterprise in the development of microbials for plant health. The company is marketing the product by selecting key distributors in the areas of interest. These distributors are compromised in the development of biological control and/or integrated pest and disease management.The team of Biocontrol Technologies has the technical capacity to isolate micro-organisms based biopesticides, perform studies for the development of such products and advice for the submission of the technical dossier near the EU Regulatory authorities for products of other Biotech companies interested in the development of microbial pesticides. The team of Biocontrol Technologies also has the technical capacity to train staff of distributors and growers on biological /integrated control of plant diseases.
